What it is
Music has been part of worship at Hayes Barton since its inception. On a given Sunday you’ll hear the Chancel Choir in the sanctuary, the LightHouse Band in Holroyd Hall, handbells on festival days, and soloists and instrumentalists drawn from within our community.
There’s a place here whether or not you read music. Some of our singers have been in the choir for decades, and others joined last season having never sung in a group before.
Each of our music groups is below — what they do, when they rehearse, and how to get involved.
Who it’s for
All ages and abilities – if you want to serve, we can find a place for you.
Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir provides music for our traditional worship services each Sunday while also preparing special music throughout the liturgical year, performing everything from traditional masterworks to spirituals and contemporary arrangements.

Worship Technology
Many people never notice the technology behind worship. These volunteers support sound, video, livestreaming, projection, and production so that worship is seamless for those gathered in person and online.
ProPresenter Team
Operate presentation software that displays song lyrics, Scripture, announcements, and visual elements during worship and special events.
Video & Livestream Team
Every week, volunteers help livestream worship services so that homebound members, travelers, and others unable to attend can remain connected to the life of Hayes Barton.
Audio Engineer
Audio volunteers operate the sound system for the LightHouse Service and other special events, ensuring worship leaders, musicians, and speakers can be heard clearly throughout the space.
